No, Tylö portable saunas are engineered to be economical to operate. Well-insulated cabins hold their warmth like a thermos rather than running the heater constantly, and depending on the model, IntelliAir™ rapid heating or direct-body CarbonFlex® infrared keeps energy use low per session. Pre-heating using the app means you only power the sauna for the time you use it. The word traditional can mean different things in relation to saunas. It is most commonly used to describe the classic hot rock sauna, as opposed to modern infrared and hybrid variations. By this definition there is no difference between portable and traditional saunas in the Tylö range, as our Halmstad, Reflection and Lulea collections tick both boxes.

Another way to define a traditional sauna is a custom-built room that lacks any modern technology. Our portable saunas outperform these traditional constructions in a wealth of ways, including efficiency, temperature control, aesthetics, comfort, entertainment, maintenance requirements, and of course portability.

With footprints as small as 97cm x 99cm, Tylö portable saunas are remarkably compact and can take up less than one square metre of floor space. Even the largest 3-person models only cover around two square metres.

You do need to budget a little extra space for clearance, placing the sauna a minimum of 10cm from any walls and ideally 20cm from the ceiling. At 1.98m in height, Tylö portable saunas fit comfortably in homes with a standard ceiling height of 2.4m.

Tylö portable saunas come in both indoor and outdoor options. Both are easy to assemble and install, with no extensive construction work required. If at any point you need to move the unit, whether you are selling your house, renovating or reconfiguring a room, they are just as easy to disassemble.
