A four-person hot tub is a small-to-medium sized model, which means that it will use more electricity than the smallest two-seater models, but it won’t use as much power as the largest seven-seater models.

You may be able to place a four-person hot tub on a deck – it just depends on the deck. Remember that the dry weight of a hot tub is significantly lower than the weight of a hot tub that is filled with water and people. In the case of Hot Spring’s largest four-seater, the Limelight Beam, a dry weight of 320kg increases to a filled weight of 1750kg (which includes the weight of four 80kg adults).

A well built deck will be able to handle this weight, but it’s wise to get a professional like a structural engineer to check your deck over and confirm that it will be able to support the filled weight of your chosen spa.
